Description:
Earn a full semester credit for Speech in just 2 weeks! This course is an introduction to the art of public speaking, including the four major speech types: informative, persuasive, extemporaneous, and oral interpretation. Basic speech structure and outline formation are taught. Through research and practice, students will write and present speeches, using a variety of presentation approaches to gain confidence in their skills as a public speaker. Attendance is extremely important as each 3-hour block contains almost 2 weeks' worth of curriculum. Students who miss more than 3 hours will not receive credit for the Communications Application class. Since class has been shortened to 3 hours a day and covers a full semester of work, there will be homework outside of class. Using class time well can lessen the amount of homework.
